We are really looking forward to Encounter this month - especially as we journey through advent.
Encounter Sunday’s are our monthly Sunday service. Our chance to gather all our House Churches to worship and pray. Everyone in one space, encountering God as family.
There are a few changes to be aware of in preparation for our time together on 11 December 2022. Including: Venue, Food, Set-up and Pack-down
Venue
The biggest change is that our usual venue, ORTU Gable Hall School, is unavailable.
Instead we will meet at 1st Corringham Scout Group building:

It will be fun to be somewhere different, and we are grateful to Corringham Scouts for use of their newly renovated building.
Access
We would not have chosen this venue without a thorough consideration of accessibility.
Jon has worked hard to ensure this venue is accessible to all.
There is a path from the road to allow wheelchair access.
An accessible toilet is also fully operational.

Parking
If you will travel by car, please park on the roads around the area, being mindful of residential access.
Otherwise, Giffards Cross Rd Car Park offers free parking less than 500m away.
The Wyldecrest Sports Country Club (formerly the Pegasus Club) will be open, so we do not encourage parking here on the day.
Food
At Encounter we won’t sit down for a big lunch. But share mince pies (catering for known allergies and vegans).
We value eating together above all else, often using the phrase: “the meeting is the eating”. It is a great logistical undertaking to provide food for ~70 people. So we have deferred this preparation to our Christmas Party (Saturday, 17 December 2022).

Set Up & Pack Down
We always share the responsibility for these events around the church. Family serving family.
This month the Set-up and Pack-down requirements will be different to usual. And more details will be available from House Church Leaders later this week.
