Christmas Assemblies

On the last week of term, each morning Proximity Schools delivered special Christmas Assemblies in Gable Hall School and Hassenbrook Academy.

Simply telling and retelling the story of Jesus’ birth, as God’s greatest gift to us.

That Jesus, a boy born to poor parents in a manger, made a refugee for some time, became the most influential man in history. With the principles of love, acceptance, forgiveness and hope entering the world.

Usually we wait for Spring to sow, but what if this Christmas, we gave gifts of seeds to sow these values? Dreaming of the impact this might have on the lonely, or your family.

The week started with snow, but our team didn’t get a frosty reception! Joyce Gjoni, Proximity Schools Director, says: “Our first Christmas assemblies this morning went really well.”

We thank God how the message is being received in the assemblies.

We are grateful for the support of all school staff, with Head of Year’s making the assembly even more powerful by reiterating much of the message.

At the end of each assembly in Gable Hall School the team launched a new Proximity Club, where from January we'll be exploring faith with those students who are Christian already or are interested to learn about it. We are excited to expand the breadth of our chaplaincy work and wellbeing workshops in the school in this way.

The team also thank the church community for praying for them, “we've all had shaky knees beforehand but the spirit within us is on fire! Blessings to all!”
