As of September 2021, we are pleased to introduce our new Leadership Team to you: Jon Biddle, Charl Harman, and Christie Harman.
We arrive year after more than a year of gradual transition and discernment alongside many trusted friends and the guidance of Roger Ellis, Director of the 24-7 Prayer Communities Network.
Team Leader
As of September 2021, Charl has been commissioned in a new role as Team Leader. We are excited for this new structural change to drive us forwards and give space for new vision.
Charl arrived in Stanford-le-Hope in 2008, as a wide-eyed teenager ready to change the world. She was invited to serve on the leadership team in 2011, with a clear calling, gifting and character that would be shaped in the decade to come.
Role Outline
From the perspective of the Leadership Team, the Team Leader has executive responsibility for pursuing the strategy and carrying out the decisions made collectively by the Leadership Team.
From the legal perspective of the Trustees, the Team Leader is the person to whom day-to-day executive responsibility is delegated, including the management of church employees and volunteers.
Changes in Leadership Team
Founding leaders, Sally and Robb Harman have decided to step down from leading Proximity Church after over 14 years, to allow a new space for emerging leaders to step up to the task.
Sally left her leadership role in April 2021 and we prayed for her that Encounter Sunday, as she weighs up what the future holds. Likewise we prayed for Robb in September 2021, as he does the same. All at Proximity Church are so grateful for their faithfulness, obedience and sacrifice, as they have served - and continue to serve - the church globally and our local community.
Both Robb and Sally continue in their roles as Trustees.
