This prayer week, rediscover the Messiah. You’ll find yourself as well.
When Jesus was among the people in Israel, everyone had something to say about him. Crowds of people from across the region followed him everywhere he went; with every teaching, miracle, and story making the headlines. To say he was the talk of the town is an understatement.
In Matthew 16, Jesus asks a simple question of his disciples: “Who do you say I am?”
The response of Simon would come to (re)define him: “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.’
Simon, now Peter, didn’t realise who Jesus was from a book, or a teacher but through revelation and relationship. And his confirmation of this in the presence of God changed the course of his life. Jesus gives him a new name, and Peter moves from that place into a new destiny.

At Learning in January, Ian Nicholson spoke to us about ‘Thin Places’, spaces where the space between Earth and heaven is imperceptible.
Ian also talked about how the Holy Spirit comes to express our uniqueness. That each one of us, is made unique and find our unique identity and purpose through the Spirit of God.
Through Jesus, today we have Kingdom Keys.
Keys that give us complete and free access to God’s kingdom
Keys to open any and every door: no more barriers between heaven and earth, earth and heaven.
Keys to discovering who we are made to be.
